Peter Knopp
Chairman of the Managing Board of the Westdeutsche ImmobilienBank AG
Prior to the appointment to his current position (Member of the managing Board) in August 2007, Peter Knopp was a Managing Director of Eurohypo and Head of the Debt Capital Markets division which encompassed the responsibilities for the departments Debt Capital Management, Syndication, Securitisation, Large Loans and Debt Capital Partnership Management. In these capacities he was personally appointed as deputy for a board member in the Commercial Real Estate Credit Committee at Commerzbank the ultimate decision making committee.
Prior to the appointment to this position in March 2005, Peter Knopp was Global Head of Syndicated Loans since September 2002. Before September 2002, he was Head of Corporate Development at Eurohypo and Head of Syndicated Loans Real Estate (SLRE) at Deutsche Bank, where he had European responsibility for the syndication of senior and mezzanine secured loan facilities in the real estate sector.
Prior to joining Eurohypo, Peter Knopp was Head of Special Finance and Co-Head of International Real Estate Finance at Deutsche Hyp Deutsche Hypothekenbank Frankfurt –Hamburg AG, at that time a 100% subsidiary of Dresdner Bank.
Before joining Deutsche Hyp he served as Director Project Finance and Structured Finance at IKB Deutsche Industriebank AG's international finance division, where he was responsible for structuring, arranging and syndication of large international project finance facilities mainly in Europe, Asia and Russia.
Peter Knopp has over 19 years of professional experience thereof more than 15 years in the banking industry.
Peter Knopp studied at the Technical University of Darmstadt mechanical engineering and business administration (Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen). He holds a doctor degree in economics and from1998 to 2006 he was an associated lecturer at the University of Applied Science in Koblenz.
Peter Knopp is Member of the Managing Board of the Westdeutsche ImmobilienBank in Mainz since August 1, 2007. He was appointed Chairman of the Managing Board on June 1, 2008.
