Siegwerk Druckfarben AG Wins “Glocal Enterprise Award 2010“
Award presented on the occasion of the traditional WestLB Corporate Day
The Siegburg-based company Siegwerk Druckfarben AG has won WestLB´s “Glocal Enterprise Award 2010”. Derived from global and local, the term “Glocal” is intended to convey the prizewinner´s close links with its home market and simultaneous global market orientation. In the view of the three-member jury headed by Professor Dr. Dr. Franz Josef Radermacher, both aspects apply to Siegwerk. The management has doubled the prize amount of € 15,000 and will transfer the total sum to the "Siegwerk India Foundation", which supports various social projects near New Delhi.
This year´s award was presented to Siegwerk on the occasion of WestLB´s traditional Corporate Day in Düsseldorf, which attracted roughly 300 participants. “Many medium-sized companies have operated successfully for years on a worldwide scale. Siegwerk Druckfarben AG is an outstanding example. These pearls of the German economy do not always attract the public attention they deserve in terms of their performance and achievements. With this award we are demonstrating our close links with medium-sized companies, which are a key customer group of the Bank,” said Werner Taiber, member of WestLB´s Managing Board.
Siegwerk Druckfarben AG, with headquarters in Siegburg, is a world leading manufacturer of printing inks. Founded in 1830, the family owned company today has subsidiaries in more than 30 countries and employs 3,900 people. The company´s shares are meanwhile held by the sixth generation of the founding family.
