Dr. Volker Brühl Appointed Head of Corporate & Structured Finance Products

Acknowledged corporate finance expert will have responsibility for driving forward the closer integration of the Corporates, Financing and Capital Markets businesses

Dr. Volker Brühl has been appointed Head of BU Corporate & Structured Finance Products. Dr. Brühl, who is 42, will take up his appointment on April 1, 2009 at the latest. He also becomes a member of the divisional board of the Corporates & Structured Finance division.

Dr. Volker Brühl joins WestLB from Dresdner Kleinwort, where amongst other things he was Head of Strategic Advisory Germany, Co-Head M&A & Corporate Finance and Co-Head Large & Mid Cap Origination. He began his professional career in Investment Banking at Deutsche Bank, before moving to management consultants Roland Berger, where he latterly worked as a partner in the field of restructuring. During the last fifteen years of his working life he has advised numerous DAX, MDAX and medium-sized companies in connection with strategic questions, M&A, restructuring, financing and capital market issues.

Drawing on his long-standing and extensive experience, Dr. Volker Brühl will have responsibility at WestLB for driving forward the closer integration of the Corporates, Financing and Capital Markets businesses.
