WestLB AG acted as joint bookrunner on E.ON’s 1 billion euro bond
Only German bookrunner / Regional Targeted Bond aimed at small and mid-sized investors in Europe
WestLB acted as the only German bookrunner on E.ON AG’s recent bond issue designed to expand the company’s European investor base. The clearly oversubscribed EUR 1 billion bond specifically targeted small and mid-sized institutional investors. The joint bookrunners on the European consortium were Banca IMI, BBVA und Fortis. This so-called Regional Targeted Bond was the largest issue of its kind ever brought to the market by an industrial company.
More than 150 investors from 20 countries successfully subscribed the issue with a maturity of 6 years and a 5.25% coupon. 34% of the investors are based in Germany, followed by Benelux, French, Italian and Spanish investors who account for 15%, 12%, 9% and 11%, respectively, of the subscriber base.
