WestLB AG Sustainability Report 2009 Published
WestLB today publishes its latest sustainability report entitled “Sustainability 2009. Integration and Efficiency”. The report supplements the information already provided in the Annual Report 2008 and includes relevant information and ratios on the current status of developments in sustainability management as well as related products and financial services. The report also provides information on the restructuring of WestLB in the wake of the financial crisis. With this we fulfil at the same time our annual reporting requirements regarding the implementation of the Equator Principles (EP). The report is supplemented by a comprehensive GRI balance sheet and contains the progress report pursuant to the UN Global Compact. The report can be downloaded in German and English from the Internet and Intranet.
WestLB Policy for Environmental and Social Issues
The “WestLB Policy for Environmental and Social Issues” specifies the engagement of the Bank with regard to environmental and social issues and express the Bank’s intention to contribute to a sustainable development. They define subject and sector-related principles underlying the Bank’s commitment to comply with social and ecological standards. In this connection, the Bank follows, in particular, internationally recognized environmental and social standards. The Bank is committed to comply with these principles in its business activities. The Policy for Environmental and Social Issues apply to all business units of WestLB AG and to all transactions with national and international customers.
