WestLB Issues Beijing 2008 Select Certificates – Offer Period Commences -
WestLB AG is issuing Beijing 2008 Select Certificates. The offer period for the certificates begins today and ends on January 7, 2005. The total volume of the issue is 500,000 certificates. The term of the certificates runs from January 11, 2005 to August 25, 2008. The minimum trading volume is one certificate.
The Beijing 2008 Select Certificate invests in 10 selected shares which benefit directly or indirectly from the Summer Olympics 2008 in Beijing. The selection was made on the basis of the concrete tender documentation for the Olympic Games in 2008 and the opinion of WestLB AG´s analysts. WestLB is thus continuing its excellent track record with event certificates which began with the WM Select Certificate for the World Cup 2006 in Germany. The Select Certificate matures one day after the closing ceremony of the Summer Olympic Games in Beijing.
The basket comprises the following shares: Anhui Conch Cement, Beijing Capital International Airport, Beijing Enterprises Holdings, Beijing North Star, Beijing Urban Constr. Inv. & Devel., chinadotcom, New World Development, Shangri-La Asia, Tom Group, Yue Yuen Industrial Holdings.
The first composition of the number of the shares in the basket will be fixed on January 10, 2005 (determination date) based on the initial composition in percent and the respective closing price determined at the corresponding exchange.
The certificates will be listed on the Frankfurt and Stuttgart (EUWAX) Stock Exchanges.
