Dr Rupert Hengster new CEO of WestAM KAG
Dr Rupert Hengster, formerly responsible for Marketing and Sales in his role as Managing Director of WestAM KAG, has been appointed CEO with immediate effect, taking over from Werner Peters who will assume a new function within WestLB.
Under the direction of Dr Hengster, it is intended to expand the asset management activities for institutional investors in German-speaking markets. Within Europe, Germany is the most important market for WestAM.
After joining WestLB in 1990, Dr Hengster held several different positions, including Executive Director within the Investment Banking. He was appointed Managing Director at WestAM KAG in 1999. In the future, he will be supported by the present Managing Directors: Dr Norbert Becker, who remains responsible for Fund Management alongside his Client Service function, and Hans-Rudolf Rittinghaus, who continues to be in charge of Operations.
