aurelis Syndication Successfully Completed
The Mandated Lead Arrangers, WestLB AG and BayernLB, announced today that the syndication of the € 1.337 billion credit facility for aurelis Real Estate GmbH & Co. KG and Deutsche Bahn AG as guarantor has been successfully completed. Due to the clearly defined purpose of this facility (acquisition of a non-operating property portfolio from Deutsche Bahn AG), the transaction volume was not increased even though the syndication was well oversubscribed; allocation was scaled down instead. It is particularly gratifying that this transaction, with its 10-year tenor, was well received in a market which tends to focus on the shorter end of the maturity spectrum.
The high quality of the property portfolio acquired by aurelis is also reflected in the composition of the banking consortium headed by WestLB AG and BayernLB as Mandated Lead Arrangers. The other members are Deutsche Postbank, ABN AMRO, Caja Madrid, Dresdner Bank, KfW and SG as Lead Arrangers; San Paolo IMI as Arranger; BBVA and CDC Ixis as Co-Arrangers; Crédit Lyonnais and National Bank of Greece as Senior Lead Managers; BAWAG, Berliner Volksbank, Fortis, Kommunalkredit, The Royal Bank of Scotland and Banque et Caisse D´Epargne as Lead Managers.
For aurelis Real Estate GmbH & Co. KG, this transaction is a milestone. It allows the company to establish the platform needed for asset and portfolio management, project development, marketing and placements of properties in the domestic and international markets. The value and high quality of aurelis Real Estate GmbH & Co. KG’s property portfolio will enable it to play a leading role in the German and European property sectors.
