WestLB Receives Structured Commodity Trade Finance Awards
WestLB AG has further strengthened its position as one of the leading providers of commodity trade finance worldwide. "Trade Finance Magazine", the prestigious international trade journal, has once again named the Bank "Best Structured Commodity Bank" and, for the fifth successive year, "Best Forfaiting Institution". The awards confirm WestLB´s expertise in the structured commodity finance and forfaiting field.
Structured commodity finance transactions are primarily secured by flows of goods such as marketable raw materials and intermediate goods and are particularly suitable for financing exports from developing countries and emerging markets. WestLB structured and arranged several transactions the structure of which was awarded the title "Deal of the Year" by "Trade Finance Magazine", including the financing for a state-owned oil and gas company in Ukraine.
